On-Chain Credit Scoring
Formulating audited DeFi risk evaluation and credit rating smart contracts.
The Challenge & Context
A DeFi protocol required a secure, tamper-proof method to evaluate user creditworthiness on-chain using historical transaction data. Introducing off-chain credit data introduced security risks, including database breaches and manipulation. Any flaw in the scoring math risked massive collateral depletion and financial exploits.
Engineering Methodology
We designed and deployed highly secure Solidity credit evaluation contracts. Utilizing the fast Foundry testing framework, we wrote extensive fuzz testing suites to evaluate contracts against trillions of parameter combinations. We calculated gas consumption on every operation, and compiled audit logs to achieve maximum protocol safety.
Architectural & Tech Rationale
Foundry was selected to enable lightning-fast, Solidity-native testing and execution tracing. Polygon was selected as the deployment network to guarantee micro-cent transaction fees for users during credit score calculations.
Quantified Business Outcomes
The credit scoring contracts achieved a perfect 100% security rating in third-party audits with zero critical vulnerabilities found. The on-chain scoring framework successfully processed over 250,000 credit checks in the first month, enabling the protocol to deploy $15M in undercollateralized loans with zero default losses.
